Anyone know any good material to look up regarding how cultures influence weapons?

I'm trying to come up with what weapons different regions might make, presuming that material isn't so much of an issue and I'm not sure of what the drivers are. Like I guess if there's a jungle area, machete or kukri type tool-weapons would be common. But what else might influence this?
