1 Corinthians 14

32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

It has not been given unto you to “control” the prophets. They are accountable only to God and to other prophets.

I assure you in Elijahs time he did not ask permission to take on the prophets of Baal and Ahab.

And I guarantee there were religious leaders who stomped around seething saying:

Look at this idiot, with his fire from heaven. Just when we had made a deal with Ahab to shut down one or two alters to baal and knock down an asherah pole and we were gonna get a huge tax cut on temple real estate and all of us were going to get 100 shekels of Gold for our churches this guy comes along and pisses of Jezebel.
why can’t he just be a team player mister holier than thou prophet of the Most High God.
And he even shacked up for a year with some pagan roastie doing miracles and stuff. Crucify Him!!!!
