Based. All of the anti-OBBB retards are basically just arguing for the sake of arguing. None of these people care about the deficit and virtually none of them have any serious proposals to bring to the table. They say things like "It's too long for me to read, so why do you expect me to actually find what I want to find wrong with it?" as if that constitutes a valid point. They cry about fake news and nonsense and rarely bring up the deficit. Certainly, the budget deficit is a problem, but do they have any proposal for spending cuts with which the OBBB could resolve the deficit? At least some Senate Republicans proposed to resolve the deficit, but the vast majority of anti-OBBB Senators rejected it! Even a lot of people in the House rejected it! Objectively speaking, the OBBB could've been positively beneficial had more of the deficit control resolutions succeeded. Instead, it still has some deficit control provisions, but they're still relatively controversial and they're also mainly intended to reduce the impact of the bill itself on the budget. Almost every attempt to control the deficit is more controversial than the deficit itself, even if it's a fraction of what's needed to rein in spending. That's why the GOP chose its reelection in 2026-2028 and elected for a more long-term approach by using increased spending at the present to reduce the deficit in the future. We're investing in our future rather than taking a more unpopular approach of austerity.
