No. If you want an example of just how different India is from the rest of Asia look no further than Bhutan. A small, mountainous country that borders India in the Himalayas. Unlike India with it's vast territory, natural resources, and massive population Bhutan is a small country with very little farmland to support themselves. But still, they're considered one of the happiest countries on the planet. They primarily use renewable energy such as hydroelectric power and are entirely carbon neutral. Their rivers and mountains are clean, their people are happy and content, they maintain their traditional religious and cultural roots while embracing technological innovation to make the lives of their people better. They have almost none of the geographical and population advantages of India yet they're thriving. There's not even really violent crime besides drug smugglers/terrorists from other countries hiding out in the mountains. It's one of the least corrupt nations in the world. Rape is practically nonexistent. Violent crimes such as murders even less so.
