I remember tying out a whole roadmap for Superman and DC films. Maybe round the time Ironman 2 came out. Sometime before Man of Steel when Marvel Studios was leading to Avengers.
I figure you star with Luthor and Metallo or Parasite. Maybe have Intergang involved. The sequel would have Brainic trying to bottle Metropolis. Clark thinks Branic is behind Intergang. Turns out Brainic was trying to save Metropolis because he knew Earth was doomed. Intergang was using Apokalips tech and working for Darkseid's minions. Leading into a third Superman film or Justice League film fighting Darkseid.
Sadly Marvel pretty much beat DC to doing this.
