It took him 15 years to make the Mona Lisa and it's a 75x50cm oil painting. It sure has plenty of advanced techniques and layers of hidden meaning but still, a richfag from the era would've not been very pleased with that as it was his pet project.
Compare that to his 1-hour sketches and there's a clear problem here, one common in plenty of artists.
