You ever notice how women in videogames almost never have any noticeable muscle tone, particularly in 3D games, even when they're supposed to be warriors or martial artists or something similar?
What's up with that?
I'm not even asking for much, maybe just a hint of abs, or arms that are ever so slightly more toned so she doesn't look like a mild breeze will knock her down

that's changing as time goes on, it's a small thing, but i think the fact that SE was willing to give Tifa even the slightest hint of abs that she has in the remakes is a good indicator of growth.
in general for japan though, it seems like they have been more receptive since the 2010s
