Here's my take: Current LLMs will not evolve into AGIs or ASIs, but they will be a component of a General intelligence.
More specifically my assumption is that it will be a module of its subconscious pattern recognition.
It's like managing to create a small component of the brain and thinking that it will act as a whole brain if you keep tweaking it.
