people only want the big names because they want a glimmer of the clout that comes with them, or they know they can deliver quality product. the latter is somewhat reasonable (if disappointing). mods aren’t made by ragtag groups of friends with assorted talents anymore. ironically, the only situations where that would be the case in the current modding sphere is a group of eceleb “friends” that are connected through their popularity in the space and simply end up working together because of that
