Around a decade ago people started using the sanctification of age to impose moral superiority through witch hunts.
Combine that with the growing victimhood culture that rewards accusatory behaviour with social headpats and it's obvious that people in public communities will incorporate it into their behaviour as to not be excluded by the majority.
It's funny cause the same people would have participated in the same behaviour they now criticize (normalized loli culture, fawning over young actors, etc.)
