There’s definitely a problem when public health policy becomes so rigid that it ignores individual autonomy, or when the state claims to protect you while serving corporate interests. That’s a real contradiction and your anger reflects something true: this isn’t socialism, and it’s not freedom either.
But libertarianism doesn’t automatically fix it. A system where corporations can sell you whatever they want without regulation doesn’t make you more free; it just replaces one unaccountable power (the state) with another (capital).
What’s needed is not a «nanny state» or a «free-for-all». It’s a system built on trust, responsibility, and democratic control where you can make your own choices, but the tools to survive and thrive aren’t locked behind bureaucratic walls or corporate paywalls. That’s not impossible it just requires real socialism, not this weird mix of state paternalism and corporate privilege we have now.
