The point is that GFL2 wasn't dismissed out of hand simply because it made players start again from square 1 with the dolls they had from GFL1 since they obviously couldn't move them over. What happened afterwards is mismanagement on the part of the writers and such. The point is that it served as a proof of concept. A sequel to FGO with a proper engine and framework can be done without pissing everyone off except the few whales, probably, but even those are most likely idiots who will slurp up any shit Nasu signs his name on the dotted line for.
