I really wanted to like this cause the character seemed interesting (and hot), but the writing was so dull and cliche I dropped it at at the start.

The author includes way too many details about everything that just don't matter. Within a few pages we learn why 10 different people won't be attending some party for their own different reasons, and the author describes the side character's entire thought process and way they view the MC.

If your plan on how the MC and LI will meet is that some super rapey dude boxes one of them in, and then the other character comes in and saves them, a laser should vaporize your head from a satellite or something.
