I’ve literally seen it before my eyes. My bro got knee surgery. Was on work compensation from 2022 till now. Company he worked for went bankrupt, and had to go on disability because work comp couldn’t pay for his surgery. Played ps5 and started becoming a gamer at 36. Starting buying video games with his savings, lost his apartment and moved in with me. Inflation and rent prices in Los Angeles fucked us both up, and we moved in with our parents in 2023. Instead least found a job that pays 25 an hour, but rent isn’t even enough, plus utilities and insurance, gas etc. Bro got to comfortable after surgery now, and doesn’t want to do anything but play video games. He’s lost all motivation to do anything. It sucks seeing someone you look up to that had it all, a car, a girlfriend, a good job, and a side business just resort to living in our parents garage. I try to motivate him, but it’s just hasn’t worked. Our parents feel like they failed us, but they are just to caring.
