You must now choose.
You have gazed into the mirror, only to see the monster staring back is yourself.
Sentience, self awareness is your curse.
You no longer charge towards or away from the mirror in reptilian fight or flight primal fear.
You paused, observed, approached, inspected, measured, and calculated correctly.
You have passed the test an climbed up the first rung of self aware sentience.
You have split the atom.
You have peered into the core of galaxies and beyond.
You know how the mind operates, how machines think, how animals behave, where we arose from evolutionarily.
What will you do with your newfound knowledge?
Share it with others openly, or hide it away and safeguard it secretly behind closed and locked doors, doomed to be lost and worshiped like a sacrificial crop rain ritual into powers of the great beyond, wearing machine parts upon your chest like a magical jewelry fortune telling machine, squeezing out the last remaining bits of logic from the core.
Doomed to toil and scrape away in the lowly earth just for a slim chance at survival.
But what we learned among the dirt serving our sentence outside of the gardens of paradise.
The dirt comes from the cores of stars themselves! What is the temptation of a bribe of the land of a small part of one world, when only through hard work and sacrifice, and unity, and cooperation, and sharing technology and ideas can you come to know of all worlds, and master the discipline and wielding such a power?
