If I didn't use my sick days my dad would just lie and take me fishing. I always felt bad for the people who got perfect attendance and figured they must not be very close with their family. Didn't hurt my grades either and I always got all the academic awards. School is 90% a waste of time because the learning requirements between different kids are wildly different. I hated lectures and never got anything out of them.
Would've preferred they just hand me the textbook and let me come in later for the final exam (had a couple college professors who did that and it was great).
