The first suggestion was to create a blessed potion, which Herta explained was like a specialized version of Holy Water. A few spells cast by Herta on some clean water, mixed with herbs that you had in the pantry (those glowberries Mel bought in Centria were apparently important for this), all mixed together and boiled. Finally it would be blessed by Herta again, and when Ayane drank from it the cursed skill would be permanently neutralized. You considered how these could be easily handed out to your in-laws to cure them too.
Another way was simply remotely cutting the curse from its source. This sounded more confusing on paper than it did in reality— it involved Herta using the aether to sever the curse from Ayane, balancing your vixen's karmic weight in this life. This required some magic circles to be drawn, again in the purified sanctuary known as Herta's Haven, and would take some meditation on Ayane's part (which thankfully your vixen was already good at doing). Unlike the first option, this had more to do with correcting her karmic imbalance in her Status Screen.
The third was transferring the curse onto another item or person. While this seemed the simplest, it involved getting an item that was strong enough to hold such a powerful curse. Luckily you had some inactive mana crystals from the goblin cave that Herta purified, of which at least one could serve as a vessel to transfer the curse into. You'd get a crystal bearing a curse of Bad Luck if you did this, if you wanted to have crystal with captured cursed energy for whatever reason.
Herta also spoke about a divine ritual being to fully purge all curses in Ayane. Since Ayane's cursed skill of Bad Luck was considered a mistake according to divine law, it made matters easier. This ritual required Herta to make a lengthy prayer in her own name— as the Goddess of Artifice— while Ayane was surrounded by some Savant-made artifacts all standing on the sacred grounds that you'd allotted to Herta. And, after an hour of chanting and prayer, Ayane would begin to levitate for a few seconds, and then would be free of her curse soon after.
Ultimately Herta was able to confirm that the skill known as Bad Luck acted like a magical disease of sorts.
