its dey cultcha, as they say. being pushy, argumentative, shameless, and disrespectful are all common traits in Indian culture. this isn't even disputed by Indians, it's actually discussed openly and they acknowledge it.
basically if they can lie and trick you - you deserve it in their eyes. if you're "dumb" enough to believe their lie you deserve to be duped an taken advantage of by them. they see nothing wrong with this, it's how India operates as a nation and it's been this way for centuries. they are the epitome of a low-trust society.
