at least Glory was a little bit historically accurate.
I had to watch Red Tails which glorifies the Tuskeegee Airmen (doesnt mention the Syphilis experiments tho) as the enders of nazism n shiet. theres one scene where a german fighter pilot realizes he is fighting EIN NEGER and starts freaking out about how his beautiful aryan race is being defeated by NEGEREIN!!!! in reality the luftwaffe was one of the less politically involved branches of the german military and had the least sympathy towards nazi ideology. its also pretty fucking stupid to imagine that a guy in a dogfight is even going to notice, or care, that the pilot hes fighting is a nigger. also i remember actually reading an autobiography written by a tuskeegee airman; he said when he was downed and captured by the germans he was treated very respectfully and given lots of accommodations, and they were even impressed that he could fly a plane.
the movie ended with one of the airman settling down in italy and marrying an italian woman which is pretty funny/sickening considering all the black soldiers that raped italian women during the allied invasion. complete propaganda and inversion of the truth of that war, but that is typical of mutt films on the subject
