The average worker in Hong Kong works about 2300 hours per year or more, while the average American worker works about 1800 hours. This means that the US is missing about 500 hours per worker, or about 80 billion labour hours annually. Over ten years the US is missing almost a trillion labour hours due to people not working or working too little.

That would generate enough work for 555 million people to work full time for a year and 40 trillion dollars in wages over the same period. Manufacturing output would double.
