There's morons that keep seething at TLOU 2, but that game to his benefit gave a shitload of context and nuance to how Ellie and Joel relationship still lingers after his death, and how it is all to the service to the theme and message of the story about violence and cycles. I'm sure Michel would gave that a good enough resonant story even if its not liked at first, which is even more baffling given how poorly DE handle things out.
