There's a good chance they didn't even think of it. Their kid goes out and they just forget about her until she comes back. Maybe use it as an excuse to shout at her if he's had a bad day.
The sense hopelessness, demoralisation, despair, the desire to check out and just plod along day-by-day, runs deep through this country.
Most parents dump their kids in school and never once think about what the school teaches them or what happens to their kid there, or what their kid does there.
This just seems to be what happens when you strip faith and purpose from society, and divide the people.
