War Vet who is notorious for being unkillable is trying to save up enough money to save his best friends wife who has a disease that affects her sight. His friend died in the war with the Russians (Japan-Russo War). He has no skills other than fighting and killing so he's trying to make it rich searching for gold, typical gold rush fever days. He meets an Ainu tribal girl who then due to circumstances, go on an adventure across Japan looking for a massive stack of gold a bunch of prisoners had. The prisoners all tattooed the location on their bodies, each person having a small portion of the map. They meet a tonne of whacky characters along the way. It's also a comfy slice of life hunting and cooking manga from time to time.
Lots of funny scenes and it's pretty notorious for it's really weird characters and even weirder scenes.
