People refuse to let go. They also have this weird desire to want to "grow up" with their favorite fictional characters. King of the Hill's revival represents both of those issues with modern fandom. The thought of there having been fans who'd actually been WAITING for the show to return baffles me. Even if it was cancelled all those years back, 13 seasons is a damn good run, and one that wrapped up with a beautiful ending no less. Personally I'd been hoping that those "talks of bringing back the show" would fall through, but clearly it still found a way.
I want NEW shit from the people who contributed to one of my favorite series; not some sorry attempt to bring it back from the dead, especially when it won't be produced the same way decades later. The BoJack Horseman creator is making a new show, the Breaking Bad creator is making a new show, and Common Side Effects worked just fine as a KotH spiritual successor. THESE are the kinds of projects that should be pushed more by the public. Not Toy Story 5.
