But both have this "I got heavy responsibilities and I must live up to them" plot. Personality-wise they have some similarities but Saber is less relaxed around people initially.
The thing is that Saber gets to bounce off a good and focused cast in the original VN and enjoy periods of peaceful tranquillity that give a better grasp of her personality and troubles, whereas Siege had to live in a gacha that needed to start and close her story in two chapters and one event over two or three years which end up feeling like a drag and not helping to want to like the character unless you liked her beforehand from the limited information you had about her from her profile.
Also Saber is admittedly cuter and that helps too.
