On Thursday, Belgium will sign six new partnerships for the reconstruction of Ukraine, announced Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot, who is going to Rome for the 4th "Ukraine Recovery Conference", donor conference for this country victim of a large-scale invasion by Russia since February 2022. The areas concerned are diverse: education, energy, economy, health.
The agreements that will be signed aim to modernize public services, strengthen energy supply, improve medical and school infrastructure and support local employment.
Within the framework of the BE-Relieve Ukraine program conducted by the Belgian cooperation agency Enabel since May 2024, some 400 public buildings have been equipped with generators allowing minimal access to electricity in critical situations. Mobile heating systems have been deployed, mainly in schools and hospitals. Enabel also finances the construction of shelters and the renovation of schools and hospitals.
