I don't think it's a coincidence that the two biggest instances of Nebarius' involvement with the world of Teyvat have to do with a heart. She created Egeria to replace the heart of the primordial sea after killing the first Hydro sovereign, and then she had her own heart eaten. I'm starting to think she IS a heart, namely the heart of the primordial one, and in that case it makes sense that Gold somehow managed to find that heart after Egeria died. Maybe each shade is a major part of the primordial one's body? Heart, eyes, blood, brains, hands, bones etc. It's not like the theme hasn't been hinted before.
