It doesn't matter. A "lawful order" just means that they didn't ask you to do something illegal. That's it.

It doesn't matter. Even if the officer acting unprofessional and ignoring policy, this does not grant you some special immunity to now fight a policeman.
If you're in a bad situation with a dumb policeman, the appropriate response is to
1. Survive the encounter.
2. Document everything you can.
3. Confront the matter through legal channels.
Whether you like this or not is immaterial. It's the way it is. The street is not a court room.
