If you grant them citizenship. Means that you cant really figure out how long truly the individuals were there, it gets a bloated bureaucratic mess, its faster and easier just to deport them and consider them letting them go back again legally if they self-deported or actually were valuable.

But also the legal immigration system is fucked, if those people tried to do it the right way it will take you half of your lifetime to do such shit. Unless you are an Indian with perfect notes and 2 PHD (which there's a shitload of scammers like that)

What Trump has to do is kick everyone and restructure/rework the entire immigration system. So they have to get paid the same wages that are for the Americans.
