The first computer was invented by Charles Babbage and the first electromagnet computer with an actual functional purpose was fielded by Muricans in 1938 in the form of the Torpedo Control Center. You could argue that Konrad Zeus was developing the Z computers around that time as well but ultimately the Z1 and Z2 were more of proof of concepts that didn't have any real practical purposes and the Z3 didn't finish development until 1941. Even then, Konrad's work with the Z series computers wouldn't have been possible without Charles' work.
