What do you think kpop has that attracts the specific demographic who likes it outside asia?
In my country: fat girls, introverts, teenagers and trannies.

In my case, im not good answering for myself. In general i like pop music and anime. One day i saw some mv and liked the coreography. Although i dont dance, i like seeing people dancing and i grew with mtv, so i like music videos. IMO western pop music videos arent that good nowdays and kpop seems to put more effort on the mv.
See for example dua lipa. She is big but doesnt seem to funnel a big budget to her mvs, that tend to be a bit simple.
