Is Ineffa an impending filler character because no one talks about her, or is Stygian Onslaught a succesful game mode because everyone talks about it instead of the upcoming character?

I can't recall the last time a beta version had this little discussion about an upcoming character. Even when (at the time) unmentioned literally whos such as Mizuki were in the beta people were talking about her in a 'haha she is so awful' kind of way
Is this a case of Ineffa just being forgettable or is Stygian Onslaught inadvertently a success since it has people still talking about it?

If Nod-Krai's entire gimmick will be modified elemental reactions that require you to specifically use the characters from Nod-Krai to collect different pieces of a puzzle... What's stopping me from just not pulling for any of them and instead keeping my gems for someone not bound by these restrictions?
