>Victoria Yuzuki (20) of the women’s pro wrestling group Marigold is fired up to capture the GHC Women’s Championship.
>At the 6/28 event held at Kasukabe Fureai Cube in Saitama, she teamed with Mayu Iwatani and MIRAI to face Darkness Revolution’s Nagisa Nozaki, Misa Matsui, and CHIAKI.
>Early on, the opposing team seized control in a brawl outside the ring. Even after returning to the ring, Yuzuki was hit with a concentrated attack. But she turned the tide with a counter harai-goshi throw. After that, she showcased strong teamwork with both Iwatani and MIRAI. In the end, MIRAI nailed CHIAKI with a short-range lariat and scored the three-count.
>Yuzuki is set to challenge GHC Women’s Champion Takumi Iroha on the NOAH “MONDAY MAGIC” show at Shinagawa Stellar Ball on June 30. Fired up, she said, “Today, I teamed with Mayu-san and MIRAI-san and we won! I was enchanted by their overwhelming magic and declared my challenge for the GHC Women’s title. I’m determined to seize this golden opportunity!”
>Yuzuki, who regularly studies NOAH matches on video, says her greatest learning resource has been none other than wrestling master Keiji Muto. The match that left the biggest impression on her was the June 6 2021 CyberFight Festival at Saitama Super Arena, when Muto—then the reigning GHC Heavyweight Champion—faced Naomichi Marufuji. It was his first time using the moonsault press since undergoing double knee replacement surgery in 2018.
>Yuzuki, who models her own moonsault after Muto’s, reflected: “I watched a ton of match footage to study, but that moonsault in this particular match… I felt like it carried Muto’s deep emotions about the GHC title. He lost the belt in that match, but the moonsault he threw himself into with such resolve is burned into my heart.”
>“That’s how heavy a belt bearing the GHC name truly is. I’m honored to be able to challenge for it—and I want to etch my name into its history too.”
