Either way, what I really despise about their localization is when they go out of their way to change names and titles. For instance, they changed Reverse Babel from Hajimari into "Retributive Tower". NISA stans spouted BS such as "why does it matter?" - but literally in the same game Marduk appeared. In Mesopotamian mythology, Marduk is a patron deity of Babylon. Falcom deliberately chose the same origin for both names, one of which was the culmination of a technological singularity and another one is a shady company which suddenly started using super sci-fi tech. Sure, not everybody cares about lore and Falcom's worldbuilding is going downhill, but it's clear to me that NISA gives 0 fucks either way. They were already working on Kuro 2, but still used "Shin" for Grendel's final form. Again, when I was playing Kuro 1, my first guess was that Sin represented another deity from Mesopotamian mythology but if you played NISA's translation then half of your theorycrafting is based on someone's stupid fanfiction.
