i like dividends. not dividend etf's though, and only very strategically, for instance i bought a ton of mmm when it was yielding over 6%, ibm when it was over 5%, bought some bmy last year at $40, own a little vale and pbr, hope to get a fat divvy from ssl someday, but i think you need to be very strategic about it, and not all of those have paid off well, should have bought more eth, which i have staked paying me a dividend of sorts. better to hold out for a heroic yield than dca into divvy funds. oh, and my mom has lots of divvy stocks, verizon and us bank are her top holdings.
