>It's always possible for a few to "make it", but if we take a broader point of view, not everyone can make x10 the median national wage.
Well absolutely. That's just the fundamental rule of games. For there to be a "winner" there must, by necessity, be losers. There is no such thing without this diametric.
>Personally, I believe that it's 80% lucky, and even people who won a lottery enjoy boasting about how much effort they put to earn it.
I don't know about 80%, but absolutely there is a component of luck ascribed to almost everybody who is truly successful. But at the same time, you cannot have luck if you do not cast your die.The only way to have a 0% chance is to never try. I understand that people are fundamentally economic creatures, constantly battling and balancing opportunity costs in their head, trying to determine if anything they try or do is worth the effort. If the juice is worth the squeeze, so to speak. For everybody that is different. For some, they try very little, but end up with much. Others, they try very much, and end up with little. That's just the world. Winners and losers. But it's never fixed (beyond jewish tricks)
The way I view it is like an axis in pic related. Sorry it looks like shit, made it on the fly. But an observation to the normal world would indicate something to this an effect. Most people lie somewhere in the middle, and few on the extremities. It's the way it is, and the way it always will be. But you'll never know if you perpetually place yourself into a box which a priori discounts any chance of success.
