There's no "canon" deck, Rider–Waite is just the most popular + has been public domain since 1966. Plus, it is pretty cool.
Anyway, right now I'm really liking The Solar Kingdom
>art can fit different moods/settings well enough (as opposed to decks that are too creepy or too cheery)
>8 extra cards, which can be useful to add arbitrary extra meanings if needed
>cards are easy to read, no wasting time searching where's the pentacle or "what was wheel equivalent to?"
