I was gonna ask the girl at the book store for her phone number after I asked her to show me the mythology section, but she didn't seem to be in the mood for that kinda thing so I just said "Maybe I could teach about some of this stuff some time" and she just said "Well, I hope you find something interesting" and walked away.

Last week she was smiling at me as she was talking and looking at me with these brilliant dark eyes, but today her eyes were glued to her phone and she seemed distracted, so I didn't want to force her to give me her number only to be ghosted or just get straight up denied.

The way she said "Well I hope you find something interesting" didn't sound hostile, I think she's still thinks I'm interesting but there's probably some other guy that she's texting right now, so I'll keep her on the backburner and maybe we can make something work if she's in a better mood some other time.
