The Mana Hazard Suit:
While there are thousands of variants of the Mana Hazard Suit, or MHS, the basic structure is the same: A suit made from the rolls of solid Luminvea tree (Maybe someone has a better name for a Not-Rubber Tree) covering the entire body with the exception of the face, over which a gasmask connected to a container is strapped.
The Luminrubber is resistant to the effects the high amounts of mana has on most other fabric (Burning, freezing, dissolving it, changing it, etc.) allowing the user to walk freely in most mana-poisened environments, though hotspots might require more layers.

The gasmasks allow the user to breath in the toxic environment as long as it is connected to a bottle filled with filter liquid which soaks up the Mana from the air, leading to a dilemma. The cleaning solution there is in the bottle the longer one can breath outside, but the more difficult it becomes to breath, while less water allows for easier breathing, but only allows short jaunts. (Yes, it is just a bubbler bottle). With usage, the liquid changes color, becoming unusable when one can no longer see through it. The color depends on the type of mana it soaked up.

The used filters are given to groups who turn filter out the Mana from the liquid, filling the old liquid into new bottles and turning the mana into a ressource usable by Mana Alchemists. This usually falls to elves, as few species are willing to take up this dangerous work, though elves often accused of drinking the refined mana to soothe their mana addiction.

I will get more into detail. But in short: Mages are used as living weapons and treated and stored as such, though I guess for long term storage they might have their mana drained to keep them stable.
