In one word - corruption. The entire Bulgarian football system is built on match fixing. Imagine like, no joke, 30%-40% of the matches that are played in the domestic league are fixed. Everyone who's ever played in a team or is in the hooligan scene knows exactly how this works. This has been going on for two decades - exactly why we now do not have any good young players, and likely never will. Football is well and truly dead in Bulgaria.
