Basically the media seems to be quick to exonerate boeing in all this, that's the main focus of the news, but a lot of things are not clear

There is a known problem with this system and they have previously found soldeeing defects on its electronics

There's also a photo of the burned console in the prelim report with the switches clearly on

But this directive, it's optional, and it recommends airlines inspect the switches (i guess they need to be removed from the console or something), and to make sure they see not faulty, so the question is, did air India ever do that, on this aircraft (unlikely)

To add more iceing in the cake, the very previous crew of this aircraft reported a technical problem with it, which was allegedly resolved by ground mechanics before this flight, but not much is known about it. Could be unrelated, but it's a weird confidence

This is exactly what happened initially with the Ethiopian 737 max crash with everyone blaming pilots, and later it turned out not to be the case, in fact it took 2 crashes to get to the bottom of that

I smell bs cover up by air India and boeing
