The writers realised that the grimdarkness would be too suffocating and that they're not educated enough to do cyberpunk-type political writing. Thus they relegated all the negative aspects of their cyberpunk settings to the background as worldbuilding and turned the actual narratives into clapbait shonenslop.
If they actually made the interactions and dialogue believable it would look like something from Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian but that would be incredibly boring.
