Geniune question, what would your reaction be if the Dante is Sinclair theory was actually real? As far as theories go its not even among the most schizoid ones we have.

Performance will vary because they have inconsistent SP and naturally inconsistent rolls, you will see a lot of people not being comfortable with them once they actually use them ingame because these days people are used to the stable SP characters much more.
Will they still be good despite not having consistent rolls? We'll see, it's all in the numbers, but this is clearly a downside and the numbers have to make up for it.
