Skirk's entire story quest also beats you over the head with the fact that the Abyssal power is a force of nature, it isn't evil or malicious, and that everything during the story quest and most of what is discussed during it revolves around it as a source of power.
They're trying to get us used to the fact that we've just seen one side of it and that Skirk's way of using it isn't evil at all.
