It's extremely based, despite being a high budget Hollywood production. It was anti-GWOT at the height of the GWOT and pointed out the absurdity of modern war and the MIC. Not in a way that felt forced either. It was also better than it had any right to be, considering no big name kinographers were involved besides Cage. Needless to say it flopped and nothing like it will ever be made again.
