>sweet young girl starts displaying disturbing behavior
>gets checked out by doctors and shrinks but nobody cant figure it out
>family priest aludes to possesion, every professional scoffs at him, ridicules him
>on night she walks on the walls or talks aramaic or farts moths or some shit
>parents finally decide to believe the priest and he pulls some strings and in come some renegade jesuit priest that has been asked to hand over his crucifix and holy water more than once
>excorcist comes and talks with the girl who is now looking like a crack addict
>finds out she's possesed by some demon called Ballabubazuba or Abasathorifiustaminusaidsus because naming it satan is gay and we need somehting people havent heard about so we're really combing sumerian wiki for exotic names
>excorcism proceeds and it's all the same shit, she curses like a sailor, head spins, limbs contort, house shakes, paintings and crosses fly off the wall
>it's all just tedious screaming and yelling for 10 minutes and then the priest either dies sacrificing himself or lives and they all live happily ever after who gives a shit
And this is 90% of excorcism/possesion movies

yeah you can make the same wall of greentext for haunted houses or slasher movies, but at least the settings and premise change and theres a mystery to them, excorcism movies all arive at the same third act, the inevitable excorcism and they bore me to fucking tears.
