People usually refers themselves by the country they live in.
You know, the country that is in Europe. It's like Canadian, Mexican, Jamaican, or Cuban calling themselves "North-American" rather than by their nationality. Or Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, and Mongolian calling themselves "Asian" rather than by their nationality.
It's like you think "Europe/EU" is the same as USAs states where America is primary identity and their state is the secondary identity. The whole Europe is culturally very different so using "European" is just by murican shorthand term. Spain, Norway, Greece, and Germany are pretty different countries.
And you still didn't say where you are from.
