>which program are you guys running in here? ive been watching a few tutorial videos to get a general idea of the workflow but im not sure what tool to download. especially because people make it soud like 1.5 was either neutered, or replaced by the neutered new model (1.6?) so im not sure what i should use.
1.5 isn't neutered so much as it takes more skill to use than the newer models. The 1.5-based models are good for generating 1girls, but not more complex scenes. and there is a tool for copying image structure (controlnet) that works better in 1.5 than in the later models.
The "base" checkpoint thing that people keep mentioning is mainly relevant for 1. what image sizes you can produce and 2. what LORAs work.
