You thought that it was a spectacular-looking, incredible technical feat with some excellent action set pieces, but as a movie in its own right a failrly mundane genre offering, bogged down by a cast clearly feeling the malaise of a difficult shoot and an overly preachy ending.

You also very much enjoyed 'Under Pressure: Making the Abyss', one of the best moviemaking docs ever and arguably more entertaining and poignant than the actual movie itself.
