Well I mean they don't necessarily need a 1:1, just being a nuclear threat should be enough of a deterrent. And I do think they would rather want the ability to launch from another country against India. It will still be under their control anyway Russia is fucking pissed at nato being at their borders and the support given to their enemies. They are not dumb but maybe delirious, however they are the least likely to offer any assistance and their performance in the Levant makes me think they don't care too much about the middle east anyway. China I can see where you are coming from, the only way this changes is if they get a much better deal from either side. But still they might feel this will lead to increased peace in the region which seems to be what they always aim for. I think if China does it so will Russia though.

Yes but also they are desperate for another ally somewhere. And since they are both under sanctions they kind of have to stick together
